Do you want to start with your SAIPA articles and are unsure of which firm to choose? We may be just the firm for you. We offer hands-on mentorship and training in an environment where you will gain extensive experience with a wide variety of clients, giving you diversity and great exposure in terms of your experience and training. This is a fantastic chance to work with qualified Professional Accountants within a stable and dynamic working environment. 3-year SAIPA Training Contracts are available to Graduates who have completed or in the process of completing their Accounting degree at university.

Graduates working at BFS Accounting will receive broad exposure to multiple clients in a wide range of market sectors. They perform work across the entire spectrum of business and professional services, allowing for comprehensive insight into the profession. This valuable experience prepares the trainee for the real life working environment and brings together that which was taught on the tertiary level with the practical application thereof.

BFS Accounting allows for the acquisition of high levels of technical expertise through both internal and external training. The focus of BFS Accounting is to provide trainees with high quality training for the duration of their training contract.

Your progress is determined by your performance, commitment and effort. Our formal appraisal process ensures that valuable feedback is given to you to facilitate maximum career growth and personal development. You will also receive study leave and vacation leave thereby allowing you to successfully complete your qualification.

  • Matric (required)
  • For Professional Accountant (SA) traineeships - completed your Bachelors/Bcomm/Bcompt (or in the process of completing, with the required core subjects as stipulated by SAIPA)
  • For Accounting Technician (SA) applications - 3 years relevant verifiable experience including the requires core subjects as stipulated by SAIPA
  • Must be a team player
  • Must be dedicated and hard working
  • Home office set up with un-capped internet connectivity (you will receive a laptop from the firm to use for your work)
  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Clear credit and criminal record
  • Do monthly accounting for clients
  • Complete tax returns for various entities
  • Drafting of financial statements for various entities
  • Set clear objectives and plan activities
  • Manage personal performance
  • Assist with SARS tax queries and submissions of supporting documents
  • Uphold ethics and values and act with integrity
  • Work productively in a challenging environment
  • Attend all training set out by the firm and required by our professional body SAIPA
  • Processing of Employer Reconciliations and IRP5's
  • Management reports for clients
  • Process payroll for various clients
  • Adherence to naming, filing and storing of client’s personal information within the format and layout set out by the firm and required by the POPI Act
  • Other adhoc duties as allocated
  • (1) 1st ensure you meet all the requirements

You will receive responsibility from the onset of your training and will be appraised on a regular basis to ensure all the required areas of competency are covered over the period of your training contract.

5. TRAINING

We provide diverse hands-on training that is aligned with the comptencies as required by our professional body SAIPA (South African Institute of Professional Accountants)

You will receive experience in different sectors, industries and various service offerings. The position will offer work that is both challenging and rewarding.
